We had a fantastic time at Elf School. Magnus took me and my wife on a journey and we learned about Hidden People, Elves, Fairies and so much more! Ofcourse also the pancakes were delicious 😋 Would recommend this school to anyone curious about the worlds within our world 💗

I had a delightful time at the Elf School! Magnus is very well-informed on his topic and an excellent lecturer. What everyone else says about the pancakes is true: they are phenomenal. For those interested in visiting, I would make the following recommendations: 1. If you are coming with some expectation of what you'd like to learn, I would come with questions. It became clear very quickly that Magnus tailors his discussions to the crowd, and I am sure that if I went again, I would experience an entirely different set of interview narratives based upon who was in the room and what questions were asked. 2. This is an interdisciplinary conversation. If you're looking for facts and figures about elves, you'll get those. If you're looking for local history, you'll get that too. If you're looking for commentary on the Enlightenment and its effects upon Iceland, you'll also receive that. If you're expecting just one thing and you don't want the others, that's unfortunate: they're all part of a tapestry. The likelihood is that removing one of the strands would unravel the piece. 3. If you are easily offended, caution ahead. Magnus will make fun of everyone, including himself, and he will encourage you to join in on the jokes. Like many people who interview others professionally, he isn't shy about asking probing questions or addressing touchy subjects. 4. This is a four-hour-ish lecture broken up by only the questions you bring, Magnus' crowd work, and the tea in the middle. 5. There are a variety of different approaches one could take to this subject matter, from folklore studies to history. Magnus is primarily interested in witness accounts and anthropology, meaning that you're going to get discussions inflected through a paranormal lens. Enjoy!

My husband and I visited elfschool and it was a very interesting experience. We loved learning about the Icelandic traditions and its rich heritage, I admit there was a mixture of feelings in the school. I specially liked the pancakes and bread. I’d like to let people know to check the schedule because they are open to the public on Friday and the gps told us it was on Sunday, which is incorrect. Still we were lucky that Magnus could give us a private class. Side note, his seance of humor is not for everyone and feel free to set your own boundaries.
