FAR Travel started with a simple frustration: watching visitors experience Iceland from the window of a 60-seat coach. So we built the company we wished existed — one that gathers the best of what local operators run, shows the real price and the real availability, and plans trips the way we would plan them for friends.

How we work
Six things you can hold us to
The operator is named on every tour
Every day tour is run by an independent Icelandic operator, and the tour page tells you which one before you book. No mystery suppliers.
Live prices, refreshed every night
Prices and open dates come from the operator’s booking system. From-prices are refreshed nightly; choose your currency in the header and confirm the quote for your party and date before payment.
Seasons stated up front
If a tour only runs part of the year, or has no departures in the coming month, the card says so before you click through.
Terms shown before you pay
Cancellation terms vary by operator and tour. They are shown with the booking options for your dates, and we will explain anything unclear before you commit.
Secure checkout, not our servers
Payment runs through Bókun, a Tripadvisor company, so your card details never pass through our website.

- That is what we do. Send your dates, group and interests through the Plan my trip form, and a local answers every message within one business day with a route, stays and tours to match.
- What is your cancellation policy?
- Cancellation terms vary by tour and may depend on the operator, product and timing. Check the product page and the terms shown for your dates before confirming, or contact us if anything is unclear.
- Should I choose a guided package or self-drive?
- Guided packages suit travellers who would rather relax and let a local handle the driving, especially in winter. Self-drive gives you full freedom — we plan the route and book the accommodation, you take the wheel. For winter self-drives we recommend a 4x4 and some experience driving in snow.
