Day 1: Reykjavík to Stykkishólmur
Duration: All day
Your day begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Reykjavík, followed by a journey through the Hvalfjörður tunnel towards the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. The day is filled with explorations, starting in the agricultural area of Borgarfjörður and continuing through Snæfellsnes Glacier National Park. Along the way, you'll visit iconic sites like Budir Church, Arnarstapi, and Hellnar, as well as the impressive rock formations of Lóndrangar and the black sand beaches of Djúpalónssandur. The day concludes with stops at Hellissandur, Ólafsvík, and the picturesque Kirkjufell mountain, before arriving in Stykkishólmur for an evening at leisure after checking into your hotel.
Day 2: Stykkishólmur to Patreksfjörður
Duration: All day
The second day takes you from Stykkishólmur to the historic agricultural regions of Dalir and Búðardalur. You can enhance your journey by taking the Breiðafjörður ferry, which offers breathtaking views of the fjord's islands and birdlife. Continuing the adventure, you’ll visit the towering Látrabjarg bird cliffs and the serene Rauðasandur beach, concluding the day in Patreksfjörður. You'll check into your hotel and unwind with dinner and free time.
Day 3: Patreksfjörður to Ísafjörður
Duration: All day
Your journey continues as you explore the fjords of Talknafjörður, Bíldudalur, and Arnarfjörður. One of the day's highlights is visiting the majestic Dynjandi Waterfall. The route also takes you through charming villages such as Hrafnseyri, Flateyri, and Suðureyri before you reach Ísafjörður, where you’ll arrive in the late afternoon. The day ends with check-in at your hotel and a relaxing evening.
Day 4: Ísafjörður to Hólmavík
Duration: All day
On the fourth day, you’ll travel through the remote regions of Súðavík, Álftafjörður, and Ísafjarðardjúp. The rugged beauty of Steingrímsfjarðarheiði and the cultural heritage of Hólmavík village are among the day's highlights. You may also choose to explore the secluded area of Strandir, possibly staying overnight at Hotel Djúpavík or returning to Hólmavík for the night. The day wraps up with dinner and free time at your accommodation.
Day 5: Hólmavík to Reykjavík
Duration: All day
The final day takes you back to Reykjavík, passing through the scenic landscapes of Hólmavík, Króksfjörður, and Gilsfjörður. Along the way, you’ll visit natural wonders like the Grábrók crater and Glanni waterfall and enjoy the geothermal features at Deildartunguhver hot spring. The journey also includes stops at Reykholt and the stunning Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls. You’ll return to your Reykjavík hotel by late afternoon, where you can relax and enjoy your evening in the city.
