Brúarfoss is a stunning waterfall located in Iceland, known for its striking blue water. This small but captivating waterfall is part of the Brúará River and is often referred to as one of Iceland's hidden gems. Unlike many larger waterfalls, Brúarfoss is unique due to its vivid blue color, which comes from the glacial water mixing with minerals as it flows over the black volcanic rocks. The waterfall is not very tall, only about 3 meters (10 feet) high, but it stretches across a wide area, creating a series of smaller cascades. The water's brilliant blue hue contrasts beautifully with the surrounding lush greenery, making it a perfect spot for photography. Although not as easily accessible as some other tourist spots in Iceland, those who make the effort are rewarded with breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. What other travelers are saying about

Brúarfoss

For our first waterfall in Iceland this was stunning with its lovely blue water that I was afraid we’d miss as a result of the rain and clouds but it more than exceeded my expectations. Parking is paid via the parka app and it’s a short 5 min walk towards the waterfall where it can be viewed from a bridge and its surrounding area.

STUNNING waterfall just a short walk from the parking lot. The blue color is mesmerizing. Great picture spots from both sides of the waterfall, the bridge, the rocky outcropping, and under the bridge. Not the biggest waterfall we saw, but definitely my favorite :)

The clear blue water is incredibly beautiful and it's just a short walk from the parking area. Although the waterfall isn't very large, the stunning blue water makes it look amazing. If the weather isn't too windy and cold, it's perfect for standing and admiring the beauty for a long time.
