Siglufjörður Campsite is the municipal camping ground in Siglufjörður, the old herring town at the northern tip of the Tröllaskagi peninsula in North Iceland. Fjallabyggð owns it and Evanger sf runs it, and it is split between two sites, so you can choose between being in the middle of town and a quieter field on its edge.

The main site sits in the town center by the town square and the small-boat harbor. Restaurants, shops, the Herring Era Museum and the swimming pool are all within walking distance, which makes it the easy pick if you want to leave the car parked for the evening.

For more peace, head to Stóri Boli, south of the avalanche barrier. It is close to the golf course, the horse stables, the forest and nesting birds, and the walk down to the center takes about 10 minutes. Both sites have toilets and electric hook-ups.

Camping in Siglufjörður normally runs from 12 May to 15 October, although the May opening depends on how the ground comes through the winter. Under the 2025 tariff, a night cost 1,700 ISK per adult, with children 16 and under free, and electricity was 1,450 ISK per night. The national lodging tax is added on top, so check the 2026 rates when you arrive.

From Akureyri, the drive takes about an hour and 10 minutes through the Héðinsfjörður tunnels, and Route 76 brings you in from Skagafjörður to the west. During the Folk Music Festival in early July, the harbor site fills up, so arrive early in the day.
