Morning – Journey Along the South Coast
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up between 8:00–9:00 AM for a full day exploring Iceland’s South Coast, a land of striking contrasts — from lush valleys to icy peaks.
Seljalandsfoss & Gljúfrabúi Waterfalls
Begin with Seljalandsfoss, one of Iceland’s most photographed waterfalls. You can walk behind its curtain of water for a truly unique view. Nearby, discover Gljúfrabúi, a hidden gem tucked within a narrow canyon, accessible by carefully hopping across stones in the stream.
Skógafoss Waterfall
Next, stand before the majestic Skógafoss, one of Iceland’s largest waterfalls, plunging 60 meters into a misty pool below. On sunny days, double rainbows often appear in its spray. If you’re feeling adventurous, climb the steps to the top for an incredible panoramic view.
Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
Continue to Reynisfjara, a world-famous black sand beach known for its dramatic basalt cliffs, sea stacks, and roaring Atlantic waves. The sight of Dýrhólaey cliffs and the Reynisdrangar rock pillars makes this spot both haunting and beautiful.
Afternoon – Glacier Hike Experience
Cap off your day with a thrilling glacier hike on one of Iceland’s outlet glaciers. Equipped with helmets, crampons, and ice axes, you’ll follow an expert glacier guide across shimmering ice formations and deep crevasses — a truly unforgettable experience in Iceland’s frozen wilderness.
Evening – Rest in Vík
Settle in for the night at Vík Inn (or similar), located in the charming coastal village of Vík. During winter, check the sky — your guide will monitor Aurora Borealis forecasts and help you find the perfect spot to witness the magical northern lights if conditions allow.
