  1. Day 1: Borgarfjörður, Waterfalls & Viking Heritage

    Morning – Departure from Reykjavík

Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Reykjavík. As you leave the city behind, enjoy the scenic views of Mount Esja and the peaceful countryside of West Iceland.

    Borgarfjörður Region

Travel through the picturesque Borgarfjörður area, where Iceland’s first settlers built their homes. This region is rich in Viking history and local folklore, offering a glimpse into the island’s early culture and traditions.

    Deildartunguhver & Reykholt

Discover Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring, known for its steaming vents and vibrant geothermal activity. Then continue to Reykholt, the historic home of the medieval writer and chieftain Snorri Sturluson, whose works preserved much of Norse mythology.

    Hraunfossar & Barnafoss Waterfalls

Experience the magic of Hraunfossar, where clear streams pour gracefully from a lava field, creating a breathtaking contrast with the dark rock. Nearby, Barnafoss rushes through a narrow canyon, showing the raw force of Iceland’s nature.

Evening – Rest & Northern Lights

After a day full of exploration, settle into your comfortable accommodation (Hotel Hrifunes or similar). During winter months, step outside after dark to chase the Northern Lights, with guidance and local tips from your tour leader.

  2. Day 2: Wonders of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula

Morning – Start of the Peninsula Adventure

After breakfast, your guide will collect you from the hotel between 8:00–9:00 AM. Today’s route takes you through the dramatic landscapes of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, often called “Iceland in Miniature” for its diverse natural features.

    Ytri-Tunga Beach

Your first stop is Ytri-Tunga, a rare golden sand beach where seals often rest on the shore. This peaceful spot offers a beautiful contrast to Iceland’s typical black beaches.

    Arnarstapi Village

Next, visit the charming fishing village of Arnarstapi, surrounded by basalt cliffs and coastal trails. Take a short walk to the famous Gatklettur arch rock, where waves crash dramatically against the stone.

    Djúpalónssandur Black Beach

Continue to Djúpalónssandur, a unique black pebble beach hidden among lava formations. Follow the trail through the rugged lava field to the shoreline, where shipwreck remains tell stories of the sea’s power.

    Kirkjufell Mountain

End the day at the striking Kirkjufell Mountain, one of Iceland’s most photographed landmarks. Its perfect shape and nearby waterfalls make it an unforgettable sight—familiar to many from Game of Thrones.

    Evening – Stay in Stykkishólmur

Relax at your cozy accommodation in Stykkishólmur (or similar), enjoying dinner in town or a peaceful evening by the harbor. If traveling in winter, keep watch for the glowing colors of the Aurora Borealis dancing across the night sky.

  3. Day 3: The Golden Circle Adventure

    Morning – Depart from Stykkishólmur

After enjoying breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel between 8:00–9:00 AM. Today, you’ll set out on the legendary Golden Circle Route, a must-see area showcasing Iceland’s most iconic natural wonders and geological marvels.

    Þingvellir National Park

Your first stop is Þingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Iceland’s first parliament, established in 930 AD. Here, you can walk between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, where the earth itself is slowly pulling apart.

    Geysir Geothermal Area

Next, experience the power of nature at the Haukadalur geothermal valley, where steaming vents and bubbling pools surround the famous Strokkur geyser, erupting every few minutes. The original “Geysir,” which gave all others its name, also resides here.

    Gullfoss Waterfall

Continue to Gullfoss, the “Golden Waterfall,” where glacial water cascades 32 meters in two dramatic stages into a rugged canyon. On sunny days, rainbows often shimmer in the mist — a perfect spot for unforgettable photos.

Evening – Relaxation & Northern Lights

After exploring the Golden Circle, check in to your comfortable accommodation (Hotel Island or similar). During winter months, your guide will provide updates on Northern Lights activity and suggest ideal spots nearby for the best chance of seeing this breathtaking natural display.

  4. Day 4: South Coast & Glacier Hike

Morning – Journey Along the South Coast

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up between 8:00–9:00 AM for a full day exploring Iceland’s South Coast, a land of striking contrasts — from lush valleys to icy peaks.

    Seljalandsfoss & Gljúfrabúi Waterfalls

Begin with Seljalandsfoss, one of Iceland’s most photographed waterfalls. You can walk behind its curtain of water for a truly unique view. Nearby, discover Gljúfrabúi, a hidden gem tucked within a narrow canyon, accessible by carefully hopping across stones in the stream.

    Skógafoss Waterfall

Next, stand before the majestic Skógafoss, one of Iceland’s largest waterfalls, plunging 60 meters into a misty pool below. On sunny days, double rainbows often appear in its spray. If you’re feeling adventurous, climb the steps to the top for an incredible panoramic view.

    Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach

Continue to Reynisfjara, a world-famous black sand beach known for its dramatic basalt cliffs, sea stacks, and roaring Atlantic waves. The sight of Dýrhólaey cliffs and the Reynisdrangar rock pillars makes this spot both haunting and beautiful.

    Afternoon – Glacier Hike Experience

Cap off your day with a thrilling glacier hike on one of Iceland’s outlet glaciers. Equipped with helmets, crampons, and ice axes, you’ll follow an expert glacier guide across shimmering ice formations and deep crevasses — a truly unforgettable experience in Iceland’s frozen wilderness.

    Evening – Rest in Vík

Settle in for the night at Vík Inn (or similar), located in the charming coastal village of Vík. During winter, check the sky — your guide will monitor Aurora Borealis forecasts and help you find the perfect spot to witness the magical northern lights if conditions allow.

  5. Day 5: Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon & Blue Ice Cave

    Morning – Departure from Vík

After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel between 8:00–9:00 AM for the final leg of your Icelandic adventure. Today’s route takes you deeper into the Vatnajökull National Park, home to Europe’s largest glacier and some of the country’s most breathtaking scenery.

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon & Diamond Beach

Your first stop is the mesmerizing Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, a deep lake filled with floating icebergs that have calved from the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier. Take a peaceful walk along the lagoon’s edge and admire the ever-changing shades of blue and white ice against the surrounding mountains.

Just across the road, visit Diamond Beach, where chunks of glacier ice wash up on the black volcanic sand. The glittering ice crystals scattered across the shore create a magical, almost otherworldly scene — perfect for photography or simply soaking in the beauty of nature.

    Blue Ice Cave Experience

Next, prepare for one of the most unforgettable experiences in Iceland — a Blue Ice Cave tour. Hop aboard a rugged super jeep and travel up the glacier with your expert guide. Once there, step inside the natural ice cave and marvel at the vivid shades of blue that shimmer in the frozen walls. These caves are constantly reshaped by nature each year, making every visit a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.

    Evening – Return to Reykjavík

After your glacier adventure, sit back and enjoy the scenic drive back to Reykjavík. As you journey across Iceland’s south coast, take time to reflect on the incredible memories made over the past five days — from roaring waterfalls and black sand beaches to glowing ice caves and golden landscapes.
