Day 1: The Golden Circle
Reykjavík
Your Icelandic adventure starts bright and early in Reykjavík. After meeting your group and guide, you’ll set off in a comfortable minibus, leaving the city behind for Iceland’s most famous sightseeing route—the Golden Circle.
Þingvellir National Park
Step into one of Iceland’s most iconic locations, where nature and history meet. At Þingvellir, you can walk between two continental plates and stand on ground that has been shifting for thousands of years. This UNESCO-listed site is also where Iceland’s first parliament was founded, adding a deep cultural touch to its rugged beauty.
Geysir Geothermal Area
Next, experience Iceland’s geothermal power firsthand. At Haukadalur Valley, the Strokkur geyser erupts every few minutes, sending boiling water high into the air. You’ll have plenty of chances for great photos as steam rises from the earth and colorful hot pools bubble nearby.
Gullfoss Waterfall
Your final Golden Circle stop is the majestic Gullfoss. Watch as the river plunges in two dramatic stages into a deep canyon, creating a misty spectacle and often revealing rainbows on sunny days—a photographer’s dream.
Optional Activity – Horseback Riding
Those who add the optional tour can enjoy a calm horseback ride through Iceland’s countryside. Ride the gentle Icelandic horses, famous for their smooth gait and friendly nature, as you soak in mountain views and peaceful scenery.
(Note: Not suitable for guests over 120 kg or with limited mobility.)
Evening & Accommodation
You’ll spend the night in the countryside, typically at Hotel Drangslid or similar. Enjoy dinner at leisure, relax in your cozy room, and, if skies are clear, step outside for a chance to see the magical Northern Lights dancing above.
Day 2: South Coast & Glacier Adventure
Morning Pickup
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up for another full day of exploration along Iceland’s famous South Coast—home to waterfalls, glaciers, and dramatic beaches.
Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
Your first stop is Seljalandsfoss, a graceful waterfall that offers a unique trail leading behind its curtain of falling water. This short walk gives you a fresh perspective and makes for one of Iceland’s most memorable photo opportunities.
Skógafoss Waterfall
Next is the mighty Skógafoss, one of the country’s most powerful waterfalls. Climb the nearby staircase to enjoy a stunning view from above or admire it from the base as mist fills the air and rainbows shimmer on sunny days.
Glacier Hike on Sólheimajökull
A highlight of the tour—your glacier adventure begins here! Equipped with safety gear provided by your guide, you’ll step onto the icy surface of Sólheimajökull glacier. Explore its deep crevasses, blue ice formations, and learn about the fascinating world of glaciers from your expert guide.
Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
After your hike, visit the striking black sands of Reynisfjara Beach. Marvel at the tall basalt columns, sea stacks rising from the Atlantic, and the crashing waves that make this one of Iceland’s most dramatic coastlines.
Evening & Accommodation
End your day in the charming seaside village of Vík í Mýrdal. Settle into your cozy hotel (Hvita Inn or similar), enjoy a relaxing evening, and if the sky is clear, your guide may lead a short outing to search for the Northern Lights—an unforgettable winter highlight.
(Please note: Northern Lights sightings depend on weather and solar activity.)

Diamond Beach
Just a short walk from the lagoon, Diamond Beach awaits. Here, icebergs that have broken off from the glacier wash ashore and sparkle like gems against the jet-black sand. The contrast of crystal-clear ice and dark volcanic sands makes this one of the most photographed places in Iceland.
Ice Cave Expedition
Your next experience is one of Iceland’s most thrilling winter adventures—a visit to a natural ice cave. After an exciting Super Jeep ride across the glacier, your certified guide will lead you inside a stunning cave of blue ice. Lake Lagarfljót
As you travel inland, you’ll pass Lake Lagarfljót, a long, narrow body of water wrapped in mystery. The journey begins with a visit to Stuðlagil Canyon, one of Iceland’s most impressive basalt formations. Standing among tall hexagonal columns carved by glacial rivers, you’ll witness vivid layers of color and texture—an absolute highlight for photographers and nature lovers alike.
Lake Mývatn
Next, continue to Lake Mývatn, a region known for its volcanic landscapes and tranquil waters. This area is home to rich birdlife, steaming craters, and beautiful geothermal features, making it one of Iceland’s most captivating natural environments.
Námaskarð Geothermal Area
Nearby lies the Námaskarð Pass, where the ground hisses and bubbles with geothermal energy. The bright orange and yellow earth, combined with clouds of steam, creates a scene that feels almost otherworldly. It’s a vivid reminder of Iceland’s powerful volcanic forces.
Dimmuborgir Lava Fields
A short drive away, you’ll explore Dimmuborgir, known as the “Dark Fort.” This maze of lava pillars and arches was formed by ancient volcanic activity and is steeped in local folklore—some say it’s home to elves and trolls! Walking through these natural sculptures is both eerie and fascinating.
Goðafoss Waterfall
Your final stop of the day is Goðafoss, the “Waterfall of the Gods.” Its wide, crescent-shaped cascade and deep turquoise waters make it one of the most beloved sights in North Iceland. You’ll arrive in Akureyri, often called the “Capital of the North,” where you’ll spend the night at Hotel Nordurland (or similar). Day 7: Exploring Snæfellsnes Peninsula
Exploring “Iceland in Miniature”
Today you’ll explore the breathtaking Snæfellsnes Peninsula—famous for capturing nearly all of Iceland’s natural beauty in one region. Expect dramatic coastlines, volcanic fields, glaciers, cliffs, and charming fishing villages—all within a day’s journey.
Gerðuberg Basalt Cliffs
Your first stop is Gerðuberg, a wall of tall, hexagonal basalt columns formed by cooling lava long ago. This striking natural formation showcases the island’s powerful geological past and offers a fantastic photo opportunity right at the start of the day.
Ytri-Tunga Beach
Next, head to Ytri-Tunga, a golden sand beach known for its resident seal colony. With a bit of luck, you can spot seals sunbathing on the rocks or swimming near the shore. The beach’s unusual light-colored sand contrasts beautifully with the dark lava cliffs typical of Iceland.
Djúpalónssandur Beach
Continue your journey to Djúpalónssandur, a stunning black pebble beach located beneath the Snæfellsjökull glacier. A short trail through dramatic lava formations leads you to the coastline, where the remains of an old shipwreck tell stories of Iceland’s maritime history.
Kirkjufell Mountain
No visit to Snæfellsnes would be complete without seeing Kirkjufell, one of Iceland’s most photographed peaks. Its distinct arrow-like shape and nearby waterfall create a perfect setting for memorable photos—especially in the soft light of late afternoon.
Accommodation
You’ll return to your countryside hotel in the evening, where you can enjoy dinner, share stories, and unwind after a full day of exploration. Hraunfossar & Barnafoss Waterfalls

Hraunfossar features countless streams flowing gently from beneath a lava field, creating a breathtaking curtain of water over dark rock. Just a short walk away lies Barnafoss, a bright blue river rushing through a narrow stone canyon—a dramatic and colorful contrast to Hraunfossar’s calm beauty.
