Sól Restaurant is located inside a working greenhouse in Hafnarfjörður, offering a dining experience surrounded by growing plants and fresh produce. The restaurant sits above the greenhouse on a glass floor, giving guests a full view of the crops below, including salad greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, and herbs used directly in the kitchen.
The menu is built around fresh, seasonal ingredients, many of which are harvested on-site. The cooking style follows Nordic traditions, with a focus on clean flavors and sustainability. The connection between the food and its source is central to everything served.
From the dining area, guests can also look out toward Hvaleyrarlón lagoon, with views that change throughout the day. During sunset, the light reflects off the water, adding to the calm and natural setting.
Sól also brews its own house beer, available only at the restaurant. The design combines glass, stone, and wood to create a bright and warm space that fits the greenhouse environment. It’s a place where local food, nature, and simple cooking come together in a unique way.
