Get ready for an exciting adventure on this Private Landmannalaugar Super Jeep Tour. You'll ride in a Super Jeep across Iceland’s wild highlands, seeing black lava fields and colorful hills made of a special rock called Rhyolite. The area is full of beauty and is a great place to enjoy the outdoors, take photos, or go for a short hike.
One of the best parts of the trip is visiting the natural hot pools. These warm springs have been a resting spot for travelers for many years. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Make sure to bring your swimsuit and towel so you can jump in and enjoy the warm water!
We’ll pick you up at your hotel between 8:00 and 8:30 AM. From there, we begin our journey toward the highlands in a Super Jeep, ready for a day full of amazing sights.
Valafell – Black Sand Valley
Our first stop is a quiet valley covered in black volcanic ash from Mount Hekla. You’ll stand on a hill with an incredible view of the dark, moon-like landscape. It’s peaceful and feels like another world.
Landmannalaugar – Mountains and Hot Springs
In Landmannalaugar, we’ll take a hike with your guide to a colorful mountain called Brennisteinsalda, also known as the Sulfur Wave. Along the trail, you’ll see steam rising from the ground and bright colors all around. After the hike, you’ll have time to relax and soak in the natural hot spring—so remember your swimsuit and towel!
Hnausapollur – Crater Lake
This large crater has bright red rocks and a deep blue lake in the middle. It’s a short stop, but the colors and view are really special and worth seeing.
Sigöldugljúfur – The Valley of Tears
Our last stop is a hidden canyon full of small, clear waterfalls and green cliffs. It’s a peaceful place and one of the most beautiful spots in Iceland. Don’t forget your camera!
Is this tour suitable for children?
Yes, children aged 5 and older can join the tour. However, keep in mind that it’s a long day with some light hiking, so it's best for kids who enjoy outdoor activities.
Will there be any food or drinks provided?
Meals are not included, so please bring your own food, snacks, and water for the day. There are no restaurants or shops in the highland area.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If the weather conditions are unsafe, especially in winter, the tour may be rescheduled or canceled. We’ll contact you as early as possible with any changes and offer a refund or new date
How difficult is the hike in Landmannalaugar?
The hike is considered easy to moderate and takes about 2 hours round trip. It includes some uphill walking but is manageable for most people with average fitness.
Can I join the tour if I’m staying outside of Reykjavik?
Pick-up is only offered from accommodations within Reykjavik. If you’re staying outside the city, you can meet us at a designated pick-up point in Reykjavik before the tour begins.
