I was there on Friday, 26 September 2025. I was looking for some Icelandic pop music as I am always curious to get to know what kind of music it is listend to in a foreign country. So in advance I read up on where to find fitting CDs and I was happy when I finally found the shop (which is also a bar); it is not far away from Hallgrímskirkja. I asked one member of staff to recommend something to me and he took the time to find some suitable CDs for me. Finally he handed me one album of an Icelandic singer as well as one compilation which I bought each. I like the music. So, I can recommend to visit the cozy 12 Tónar!
I'm from Seattle WA. We have some of the most amazing record stores. This place equals or rivals the best in Seattle. I walked in and the dj was playing sick tracks. The beer was good and the atmosphere was stellar. I'll remember this place
12 stars for 12 Tónar! A fun and eclectic selection of local and global records with a great little bar and a patio out back. Went downstairs and ran into a local band who were promoting their new EP and they invited us to their show the next night!Shoutout to Inspector Spacetime—sorry for getting in the way of your video shoot.
