About Flúðir Swimming Pool
Flúðir Swimming Pool is the public geothermal pool of Flúðir, a greenhouse village in the Hrunamannahreppur district of South Iceland, about 30 minutes' drive from Geysir and Gullfoss. It is run by the municipality and sits in the village centre, around a kilometre from the Secret Lagoon.
The outdoor pool is 25 metres long, with two hot tubs, a cold tub, a natural steam bath fed by local geothermal steam and an infrared sauna. It is a straightforward community pool and much cheaper than the lagoons of the Golden Circle area, which makes it a good choice for lap swimming, for families on a budget or for anyone staying at the Flúðir campsite nearby.
In summer, from 1 June to 15 August, the pool opens on weekdays from 10:00 to 20:00 and at weekends from 10:00 to 18:00. From 16 August to 31 May it opens on weekdays from 16:00 to 20:30, with an extra early session on Thursdays from 06:00 to 09:00, and at weekends from 13:00 to 18:00. Winter daytime visits on weekdays are therefore not possible, so plan an afternoon or evening swim.
The pool's own page lists adult entry (ages 18 to 66) at 1,250 ISK and ages 10 to 17 at 600 ISK, but a 2026 municipal tariff has also been reported at 1,400 ISK and 650 ISK, so allow for the higher figure. Children under 10, seniors and disabled visitors swim free. The pool can be reached on 480 6625. As everywhere in Iceland, shower without a swimsuit before you get in.
