About Grundarfjörður Swimming Pool
Grundarfjörður Swimming Pool is part of the sports centre at Borgarbraut 19. It has a 16.67-metre pool, a wading pool, two hot tubs and a sauna. The main pool and wading pool operate during the May–September summer season, while the hot tubs remain available year-round. This distinction matters in winter, when the tubs may be open but the main pool is not. The wider centre includes a sports hall and outdoor sports grounds.
Summer hours are Monday–Thursday 07:00–21:00, Friday 07:00–23:00 and Saturday–Sunday 10:00–18:00. In winter, the hot-tub facility opens Monday–Friday 08:00–21:00 and Saturday 13:00–17:00, with Sunday closed. The tariff effective 1 January 2026 lists adult entry at 1,200 ISK, free entry for ages 0–9, and 400 ISK for ages 10–17, senior citizens and disabled visitors. Ten-visit and 30-visit cards are also offered.
