Íþróttamiðstöðin Kleppjárnsreykjum is the sports centre and summer swimming pool of Kleppjárnsreykir, a small geothermal settlement in Reykholtsdalur in the Borgarfjörður district of West Iceland. It belongs to Borgarbyggð municipality and serves the local school, and in summer it opens to the public as a quiet country pool.
The facility is simple: a 25-metre outdoor pool, a hot tub and a sunbathing area. There are no slides or spa rooms. The area is heated by some of the most powerful hot springs in Iceland, and Deildartunguhver, Europe's highest-flow hot spring, is only about 1 km away, so a swim here pairs naturally with a stop at the spring.
The pool is open only in summer. In 2026 it opened daily from 09:00 to 18:00 between 7 June and 18 August, and it is closed from mid-August to the end of May. The municipality has said it is looking at ways to open in winter, but for now there is no winter public swimming, so outside summer use the pools at Borgarnes or check whether Varmaland is open.
The 2026 prices are 1,600 ISK for adults, seniors and disabled visitors and 400 ISK for children aged 11–15, with children aged 10 and under swimming free.
Kleppjárnsreykir lies on Route 50, about 30 km north-east of Borgarnes and roughly 1 hour 20 minutes' drive from Reykjavík. It is a convenient stop on the way to Reykholt, Hraunfossar and Barnafoss further up the valley, or to the Krauma spa beside Deildartunguhver. Showering without a swimsuit is required before entering the pool.
