Ólafsvík Swimming Pool (Sundlaug Snæfellsbæjar) is the municipal pool of Snæfellsbær, at Ennisbraut 11 in Ólafsvík on the north coast of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. It is the main pool for travellers exploring Snæfellsjökull National Park and the western tip of the peninsula, which is about a 15-minute drive away.
The facilities are an indoor swimming pool with an outdoor area of hot tubs, a wading pool for small children and a water slide. The indoor pool means you can swim in wind and rain, which is common on this exposed coast. During school swimming lessons the indoor pool is closed to the public, but the outdoor hot tubs stay open.
The pool is open all year, from 07:30 to 21:00 on weekdays and 10:00 to 17:00 at weekends, with last entry 30 minutes before closing. That makes it easy to fit in after a day at Djúpalónssandur, Saxhóll or on a glacier tour. Children under 10 must be accompanied by someone aged 15 or over, who is responsible for supervising them in the pool and hot tubs.
The 2026 admission price is 1,800 ISK for adults, 500 ISK for children aged 10–16 and 700 ISK for seniors and disabled visitors; children up to 9 swim free. A ten-visit adult card costs 7,000 ISK and discount cards are also valid at Lýsulaugar on the south side of the peninsula. Swimsuits and towels can be hired for 500 ISK each.
