Stefánslaug is the outdoor swimming pool in Neskaupstaður, the town on Norðfjörður in Iceland's Eastfjords. It is run by the municipality of Fjarðabyggð and is named after Stefán Þorleifsson, the local swimming and sports teacher who led the campaign to build it. The pool is at Miðstræti 15, on a sunny spot on the hillside above the town centre.
The pool is outdoors, with hot tubs, a steam bath, a large sunbathing area and two long waterslides. From the water there is a view out along the fjord between the steep mountains on either side. A gym on the lower floor is open during the pool's staffed hours.
Neskaupstaður is reached through the Norðfjörður tunnel from Eskifjörður, about 25 km away, and the town is a dead end at the outer end of the fjord, so the pool is visited mainly by people staying in town or making the detour from the main Eastfjords route. The Eskifjörður, Reyðarfjörður and Fáskrúðsfjörður pools are all within about an hour's drive.
Summer hours (1 June to 31 August) are 07:00–21:00 on weekdays and 10:00–18:00 at weekends. In winter (1 September to 31 May) the pool opens 07:00–20:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:00–18:00 on Fridays, 11:00–18:00 on Saturdays and 13:00–18:00 on Sundays.
Under the Fjarðabyggð tariff in force since 1 May 2026, adult single entry costs 1,145 ISK, young people aged 16–17 pay 325 ISK and children under 16 swim free. Seniors and disabled visitors with a valid card get a 50% discount. Swimsuits and towels can be rented.
