Our favorite campsite so far! We arrived around 10pm. The lady was there to collect payment (via card). She also came several times in the morning to collect payment from late arrivals. The campground had plenty of space for vans and tents. The common area was small (two tables). They had two double hot plates and a kettle. We paid and used the washer and dryer (note: play around with the washer setting so you don't accidently do a 2 hour wash). Highly recommend staying here.
The staff is very nice and helpful. The site is quite spacious. beside the site, there are some higher mountains with snow covered even is only early September. We saw the aurora lights during the night. Tt is very convenience as it is located right off the main circle round. if you go to Akureiyi direction (Eastbound) from the camping site, I suggest do not take the tunnel of hight #1, instead, take the side road, the view is beautiful and you save the tunnel fare. Strongly recommended.
Very peaceful place right by the stream. The kitchen area might get crowded if more than 6 people enter it but its cozy. Kitchen utilities include cooktop, cutlery and a sandwich maker! The view from the campground is great and it is surrounded by trees. Very beautiful indeed. There are 2 showers i think and WC is mostly clean.
