We loved this camping spot. Very quiet at the base of a hill with a small waterfall. You hardly notice you are in town. The facilities are well maintained and even though this is a popular spot I didn’t feel like there was much wait to get into the shower rooms. Lots of sinks for washing dishes etc
Super kind reception gentleman, and while this used to be one of my favorite campsites on the south coast, the vibe was very different this last visit. There was a large group traveling through that was quite rude, and the new spots for van parking are close together over gravel (in the past it was possible to park in the grass close to the cliff line which was picturesque and quiet) Make sure to bring extra 50isk coins for the shower (not included in the already decent nightly cost) !!!
Lovely little quiet campsite. Plenty of spots with electricity. 4 private showers (2 in men’s bathroom, 2 in women’s bathroom). Showers cost 300 ISK for 3-minutes. Handy little timer that you can see from the shower too. The campsite also has a small kitchen, laundry, drinking water, and a few hiking trails nearby. There is also a restaurant near the campsite entrance that is open until 10pm in the summer. We would definitely book again!
