About Vogar Swimming Pool
Vogar Swimming Pool is part of the sports centre at Hafnargata 17 in Vogar, a small coastal village on the Reykjanes peninsula. The village lies just off Reykjanesbraut (Route 41), the main road between Reykjavík and Keflavík International Airport, roughly halfway between Hafnarfjörður and the airport. The centre is run by the municipality of Vogar.
The pool is 16.66 by 8 metres, with a massage hot tub kept at about 41°C, a cold tub, a wading pool for young children and a sauna. The building also has a gym and a large sports hall. It is a small local pool and a simple alternative to the larger pools in Reykjanesbær or to the Blue Lagoon.
Because Vogar is so close to the airport, the pool is useful on an arrival or departure day: a place to swim and shower after an overnight flight or before a late check-in. It is also a short drive from the Fagradalsfjall volcanic area and the rest of the Reykjanes peninsula.
The pool opens 06:15–21:00 on weekdays and 10:00–16:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. Swimmers are asked to leave the water 15 minutes before the advertised closing time. Holiday hours are announced on the municipality's website.
Under the 2026 municipal tariff, a single entry costs 1,000 ISK for adults aged 18–66 and entry is free for children under 18 and for anyone aged 67 or over. A ten-visit adult card costs 5,900 ISK. Swimsuits and towels can be rented for 690 ISK each for adults.
