About this trip
This 4-day summer minibus tour is the perfect way to see Iceland’s most beautiful natural sights. You’ll start by exploring the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, known for its stunning black beaches, lava fields, and the glacier-topped Snæfellsjökull volcano. The area is full of dramatic cliffs, volcanic craters, and coastal charm — a true picture of Iceland’s wild beauty. You’ll also get to visit a seal colony and take in the peaceful scenery of West Iceland.
Next, you’ll travel through the famous Golden Circle to see the erupting Geysir, the mighty Gullfoss waterfall, and the historic Þingvellir National Park. The journey continues along the South Coast, where you’ll visit the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, and walk on the stunning Black Sand Beach. The highlight of the trip is Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where you can enjoy a boat tour among floating icebergs and even hike on Europe’s largest glacier.
Day-by-day itinerary
A starting point, not a fixed route — request the full itinerary and we adjust it to your dates and pace.
Day 1: The Wonders of Snæfellsnes Peninsula
We begin our adventure early in Reykjavík, heading west toward the magical Snæfellsnes Peninsula — a region often called “Iceland in a nutshell” for its stunning mix of volcanoes, beaches, cliffs, and glaciers.
Ytri Tunga Beach – Seal Spotting Haven
Our first stop is Ytri Tunga, a golden-sand beach famous for its lively seal colony. Keep your eyes peeled for seals resting on the rocks or swimming nearby — a peaceful and heartwarming sight.
Búðakirkja – The Black Church of Búðir
Next, we visit the small black church of Búðakirkja, beautifully standing alone among lava fields. Built centuries ago, this simple yet striking landmark offers a great photo opportunity against Iceland’s dramatic landscapes.
Arnarstapi Village – Coastal Charm
We continue to the fishing village of Arnarstapi, where the coastal cliffs, sea arches, and birdlife make for breathtaking views. Enjoy a short walk along the cliffs while your guide shares local myths about the giant Bárður, the guardian of Snæfellsnes.
Lóndrangar Cliffs – Nature’s Stone Towers
Here, you’ll witness two tall basalt rock pillars rising from the sea. These dramatic sea stacks are nesting grounds for seabirds and a great place for photos with sweeping coastal views.
Djúpalónssandur Beach – The Strength of the Sea
Walk along the black pebble beach where fishermen once tested their strength on ancient “lifting stones.” You’ll also see the remains of a shipwreck, a reminder of Iceland’s powerful natural forces.
Kirkjufell Mountain & Kirkjufellsfoss Waterfall
End your day at the iconic “Church Mountain” and its twin waterfall. Known from Game of Thrones, this spot is one of Iceland’s most photographed places — perfect for your evening shots before resting overnight.
Day 2: Golden Circle Adventure
On the second day, we explore Iceland’s most famous sightseeing route — the Golden Circle — packed with natural beauty and history.
Geysir Geothermal Area
Witness Strokkur, Iceland’s most active geyser, erupting every few minutes with jets of boiling water reaching up to 30 meters high. The geothermal area is filled with bubbling hot springs and steaming vents.
Gullfoss Waterfall – The Golden Falls
A short drive away, marvel at the power of Gullfoss as glacier-fed water plunges into a deep canyon. On sunny days, rainbows appear in the mist, making this waterfall even more magical.
Þingvellir National Park – Where Continents Meet
Finally, we visit Þingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are slowly drifting apart. This is also the birthplace of Iceland’s first parliament, founded in 930 AD.
Day 3: South Coast & Glacier Experience
Today, we travel along Iceland’s famous South Coast, filled with glaciers, waterfalls, and black-sand beaches.
Seljalandsfoss Waterfall – Walk Behind the Falls
Bring a raincoat — this waterfall lets you walk behind the curtain of water for a unique view! It’s one of Iceland’s most photographed and refreshing stops.
Skógafoss Waterfall – A Mighty Beauty
Just a short drive away, you’ll find Skógafoss, a grand 60-meter-high waterfall that often creates vivid rainbows in its mist. Climb the nearby steps for panoramic views from above.
Glacier Hike in Skaftafell National Park
Next, we gear up for an unforgettable glacier hike on one of Vatnajökull’s outlets. Led by a certified guide, you’ll walk across ancient ice formations, crevasses, and blue ridges — a truly unforgettable adventure.
Day 4: Ice Lagoon & Black Beach Finale
Our final day takes us to some of Iceland’s most iconic glacier and coastal landscapes before heading back to Reykjavík.
Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon – Floating Icebergs
See giant icebergs drift across the crystal-clear lagoon, breaking off from Europe’s largest glacier. You’ll also enjoy an optional boat ride for a closer look at these stunning ice formations.
Diamond Beach – Nature’s Ice Jewels
Just across from the lagoon, the black sand beach sparkles with chunks of ice washed ashore by the waves. The shimmering contrast of white ice against black sand makes for spectacular photos.
Reynisfjara Beach – The Black Sands of the South
Before returning to the city, we stop at Reynisfjara, a world-famous beach known for its tall basalt columns, powerful waves, and resident puffins during summer.
