Overview
A four-and-a-half-hour evening tour from Akureyri, combining entry to the Forest Lagoon with a guided minibus search for the northern lights.
Guests are picked up in Akureyri and taken first to the Forest Lagoon, a geothermal spa in woodland just outside town, then out into the dark with an English-speaking guide who chooses the night's viewing spot from the weather and aurora forecast. Minibus transport, pick-up and lagoon entry are covered by the ticket.
The northern lights are a natural, weather-dependent event and no sighting is guaranteed. The operator decides at around 18:00 each day whether conditions allow the tour to run, so guests should confirm on the day they are booked. Towels and swimwear are not provided, but can be rented at the lagoon.
