Goðafoss and the Forest Lagoon

  • Operated by Star Travel

Overview

A half-day minibus trip from Akureyri, four hours in total, pairing the Goðafoss waterfall with a bathe at the Forest Lagoon.

The first stop is Goðafoss on the Skjálfandafljót river, a curved fall of about 12 metres tied to Iceland's conversion to Christianity in the year 1000. From there the minibus carries on to the Forest Lagoon, and the ticket covers admission to the geothermal spa in the woods outside Akureyri. An English-speaking guide travels with the group, and pick-up is included.

Towels and swimwear are not part of the admission; both can be hired on site.
