Itinerary
Pick-Up and Check-In · Duration: 15 Minutes
If you've booked a private tour with pick-up, meet your driver at the selected location in Reykjavik. Arrive at the meeting point at Bjarnagjá 15 minutes before the tour starts time—check-in in with the guides upon arrival.
Briefing and Gear-Up · Duration: 1 Hour
Your guide will provide a detailed briefing on safety protocols and diving procedures. During this hour, you will gear up with all the necessary snorkeling equipment. Your guide will assist you in donning the gear and ensuring a comfortable fit.
Diving Experience · Duration: 30-45 Minutes
Once fully dressed, you'll go to the entry point and perform a weight check upon entering the water. Enjoy 30 to 45 minutes of diving, exploring the enchanting underwater fissure where freshwater and seawater converge. Witness mesmerizing rock formations and vibrant marine life in this hidden gem.
Warm-Up and Debrief · Duration: 15-20 Minutes
After diving, remove your equipment and warm up with hot chocolate and cookies. This is an opportunity to chat with your guide, ask questions, and review the photos taken during the tour. If you have booked a tour with pick-up, your driver will drop you off at your location in Reykjavik.

Know before you go
- Must be a certified diver at the PADI Open Water Diver level or equivalent.
- Must have dry suit diving certification and a logged dry suit dive within two years of the dive tour date OR have at least ten logged dry suit dives within two years of the Silfra tour date, with written proof from a diving instructor.
- Must have read, signed, and followed directions on the online Diving Medical Statement.
- If you are 60 or older, a doctor must sign our Diving Medical form off.
- You must sign our liability release form at the start of the dive tour.
- Must be between 150cm and 200cm in height.
- Must weigh between 45kg and 120kg.
- It must fit within our dry suit size chart.
- Must be at least 17 (legal guardian's signature required for participants under 18).
- Must be physically fit.
- Must be able to communicate in English.
- You must be ready to wear a sometimes tight and constricting dry suit.
- You must not be pregnant.
- You must eat well before the tour.
