Itinerary
Arrival and Check-In · Duration: 15 Minutes
Arrive at the Seltún geothermal area 15 minutes before your tour begins. Check in with your guide and group to receive your diving gear. Your guide will explain how to use the equipment and ensure everything fits properly.
Briefing and Gear-Up · Duration: 1 Hour
Your guide will give a detailed briefing on safety procedures and the geothermal area. With your guide's help, you'll gear up, ensuring you’re comfortable and prepared for the dive. This session includes final adjustments to your gear and instructions on the dive.
Hot Spring Diving Experience · Duration: 5-Minute Walk + 30-45 Minutes Diving
Walk about 50 meters from the shore to the dive entry point at Lake Kleifarvatn. Spend 30-45 minutes in the water exploring the unique hot spring area. Enjoy the tranquility and marvel at the underwater geothermal features.
Warm-Up and Debrief · Duration: 15-20 Minutes
After your dive, remove your equipment and warm up with hot chocolate and cookies. This is a great time to chat with your guide, ask questions, and look at the photos taken during the tour. Reflect on your underwater adventure before heading back.
Return Trip (If Applicable) · Duration: Varies
If you booked a tour with pick-up, your driver will take you back to Reykjavik. Enjoy a relaxing drive and reminisce about your unique diving experience. Your drop-off will be at your selected location in Reykjavik.

Know before you go
- Certified diver at the level of PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent.
- Dry suit diving certification and a logged dry suit dive within two years, or at least 10 logged dry suit dive within two years with written proof.
- Read, sign, and follow directions on the online Diving Medical Statement.
- Diving Medical form signed off by a doctor if age 60 or older.
- Sign the liability release form at the start of the dive tour.
- Height between 150cm and 200cm.
- Weight between 45kg and 120kg.
- Fit within our dry suit size chart.
- At least 17 years of age (signature of legal guardian required for under 18 participants).
- Physically fit.
- Able to communicate in English.
- Ready to wear a sometimes tight and constricting dry suit.
- Not pregnant.
- Eat well before the tour.
Good to know
Do I need previous diving experience to participate?
Yes, you must be a certified diver at the PADI Open Water Diver level or equivalent. You will also need proof of dry suit diving certification OR written proof of 10 logged dry suit dives within two years.
What should I wear for the dive?
On the day of your tour, bring long underwear, thick socks, and clothes suitable for the weather.
Is there an age limit for this tour?
Participants must be at least 18 years old and physically healthy.
Can pregnant women or people with medical issues participate in this tour?
Unfortunately, for safety reasons, pregnant women and people with heart conditions or other medical issues are not allowed to participate.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my tour?
This tour is subject to favorable weather conditions. If it is canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or a full refund.
Do I need to bring my own diving equipment?
No, all necessary dive equipment will be provided for a seamless experience.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule my tour?
You can cancel or reschedule your tour up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the tour will not be refunded. Rescheduling within 24 hours is subject to availability.
