We arrived there after checking two other camping sites nearby that were full. The only positive point of it is the location which is so beautiful next to a waterfall. Only one shower available. Sinks and toilets were dirty and a bit far from some spots in the camping site. No kitchen or washing machine.
The expensive campsite with no facilities. This campsite should actually have zero stars. However, the nature is 5 stars because of the waterfall. I stayed here from Thursday to Sunday. And experienced a lot of BAD service. There was no soap in either the men's or women's toilets all Thursday and Friday, until I complained about this. The toilets were constantly running out of paper and when the staff changed new paper in the paper holders, the floor was not cleaned. Therefore, there was disgusting toilet paper everywhere, including inside the toilet stalls themselves. Some with feces on them. The toilets were not cleaned during the 4 days we were here. At least we could not see it done. By the way, there are far too few toilets at the campsite for so many guests. And only one shower. No small kitchen to make hot water, or cook a dish. No playground for children either. The place where you wash up is quite frankly very disgusting. It is the same place where feces and urine are emptied from the caravans. With approx. 2 meters distance. At the washing up place there are often long queues because there is only a single tap for the entire campsite. I have been to about 20 campsites in Iceland in the last 18 years and this campsite is the worst I have experienced. Also the most expensive.
We came on a Thursday night, there was a lot of room to park but no staff to give us info. There are very few amenities, toilets for men and women, 1 shower, and a sink to wash the dishes. There is good water pressure and warm water. But no kitchen or place to cook, we did manage to find a barbeque and make it work. The waterfall at the entrance is magnificent and the area was calm and relaxing.
