Kópavogslaug is the main public pool of Kópavogur, the town immediately south of Reykjavík, at Borgarholtsbraut 17 on the hill in central Kópavogur, near Kópavogur church and the town's cultural centre. The municipality describes it as the largest and one of the most popular pools in Iceland. It opened in 1967 and was extensively renovated in 2008.

The outdoor 50-metre pool is the highlight, and it sits alongside indoor pools of 25 and 10 metres. There are seven hot tubs, including a massage tub and a children's splash tub, a cold tub, a steam bath and a sauna. Three outdoor waterslides, plus a smaller one for young children, keep families busy, and a fitness centre shares the building.

From 1 May to 30 September the pool opens Monday to Friday 06:30–22:00 and at weekends 08:00–20:00. From 1 October to 30 April weekday hours are unchanged and weekends run 08:00–18:00. Public holidays follow a separate schedule. Lane swimmers come early; after-school hours and weekend afternoons are busiest.

A single adult ticket costs 1,330 ISK, and children under 18, disabled visitors and people aged 67 and over swim free. Swimsuits and towels can be rented for 730 ISK each, useful if you are passing through without kit.

Kópavogslaug is about 10 minutes' drive from central Reykjavík and well served by Strætó buses, so it is an easy, much cheaper alternative to the nearby Sky Lagoon for a soak and a swim. Showering without a swimsuit before entering the pool is required.
