Skagaströnd Swimming Pool is the small public pool of Skagaströnd, a fishing town on the eastern shore of Húnaflói bay in Northwest Iceland, about 20 km north of Blönduós and the Ring Road. It is at Einbúastígur 2 on the western edge of town, close to the Spákonufellshöfði headland and its short coastal walking path.
The outdoor pool measures 6 by 12 metres and is heated with water from the district heating system. It was extensively renovated in recent years and has good changing rooms, showers and a hot tub. It is a cosy local pool rather than a place for serious lap swimming, and it suits families, campers at the town campsite and anyone wanting a warm soak after walking on Spákonufell mountain or the headland.
The summer timetable runs from June to August, with opening on weekdays from 10:00 to 20:00 and on Saturdays and Sundays from 13:00 to 17:00; in 2026 the summer season started on 10 June after a short closure. From September to May the pool opens on weekdays from 16:00 to 20:00 and on Saturdays from 13:00 to 17:00. No Sunday opening is listed for the winter timetable, so confirm before planning a winter Sunday swim.
Admission prices are not shown on the pool page itself, so check the municipal tariff or ask at the desk; gym memberships at the same facility also cover the pool. The pool can be reached on 452 2806. Remember that Icelandic pools require you to shower without a swimsuit before entering the water.
