About Stokkseyri Swimming Pool
Stokkseyri Swimming Pool is the village pool of Stokkseyri, a small coastal village on the south coast about 12 km south of Selfoss and roughly an hour's drive from Reykjavík. It is run by the municipality of Árborg and stands at Stjörnusteinar 1a, a short walk from the seafront, the harbour and the village's well-known lobster restaurant.
The outdoor pool is 18 metres long and has a water slide, a wading pool for small children and two hot tubs, with spacious changing rooms. It is a relaxed, family-friendly local pool and a good add-on to a day exploring Stokkseyri and neighbouring Eyrarbakki, with their old timber houses, black-sand shoreline and coastal walking path between the two villages.
Summer opening runs from 1 June to mid-August, on weekdays from 13:00 to 21:00 and at weekends from 10:00 to 17:00. The winter timetable from 16 August 2026 to 31 May 2027 is much shorter: Monday to Thursday from 16:30 to 20:00 and Saturday from 11:00 to 15:00, with no opening on Fridays or Sundays. For a winter swim on those days, Sundhöll Selfoss is the nearest larger pool.
Under Árborg's 2026 tariff, adult entry is 1,900 ISK. Children under 10 swim free, ages 10 to 17 pay 360 ISK, visitors aged 67 and over pay 490 ISK, and disabled visitors with a valid card enter free. A swimsuit or towel can be rented for 1,150 ISK each, or 2,700 ISK for both. The pool can be reached on 480 3260. As everywhere in Iceland, shower without a swimsuit before you get in.
