Sundhöll Selfoss

About Sundhöll Selfoss

Sundhöll Selfoss is the main public swimming pool in Selfoss, the largest town in South Iceland, on the Ring Road about 57 km east of Reykjavík. It is run by the municipality of Árborg and stands at Tryggvagata 15 in the town centre, within walking distance of the shops, with plenty of parking around the building. It is one of the biggest pools in the region, with around 200,000 visits a year.

The complex has both indoor and outdoor swimming. Inside there is an 18-metre pool and a children's pool; outside there is a 25-metre pool, a children's pool with three waterslides and a wading pool. There are hot tubs, cold tubs, a steam bath and a sauna. An extension opened in summer 2015 added the indoor children's pool, a new reception and larger changing rooms. There are indoor and outdoor changing rooms, each with separate facilities for disabled visitors, and a changing room suitable for wheelchair users. A World Class gym is on the upper floor.

Selfoss is the gateway to the Golden Circle and the south coast, so the pool is an easy stop for anyone staying in town or driving between Reykjavík and Vík. Kerið crater is about 13 km away, and the town campsite is a few minutes' walk from the pool.

Opening hours are 06:30–22:00 Monday to Thursday, 06:30–19:00 on Fridays and 09:00–18:00 at weekends. The pool is closed on several public holidays, including Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Whit Sunday, 17 June and the August bank holiday, and closes early on 24 and 31 December.

The 2026 prices are 1,900 ISK for adults, 360 ISK for children aged 10–17 and 490 ISK for seniors, with free entry for children under 10 and disabled visitors. Towels and swimsuits cost 1,150 ISK each to rent, or 2,700 ISK for both together with entry.
