Overview
A standard lava-tunnel tour with hotel pickup in Reykjavík, spending about one hour on the lit walkway inside Raufarhólshellir.
Pickup runs 8:30–8:50 for the 9:00 departure and 12:30–12:50 for the 13:00 departure, from hotels, hostels and guesthouses in Reykjavík; the bus is operated by Reykjavík Excursions and signed Tour Pick-up. Inside the cave, a footbridge and fixed lighting lead through the section formed by the eruption. Helmet, lights and crampons if needed are provided; wear sturdy hiking shoes and warm clothes.
The three-hour total covers travel and roughly one hour underground, and there is no guide on the transport bus.
