Overview

A full-day Reykjavík adventure combining a three-hour whale-watching cruise with guided rafting in the Hvítá river’s Gullfoss Canyon.

Start with Classic Whale Watching in Faxaflói Bay, then transfer inland for a guided run through the Hvítá river’s Gullfoss Canyon. The active day includes transport, rafting equipment and time at the base camp.

Departure, route and access may change with weather, natural conditions and the captain or guide’s safety decisions. Check availability for your travel date when booking.

The itinerary may change when weather, sea conditions or safety considerations require it.

  1. Start

    Reykjavík pickup and whale watching

    Pickup runs from approximately 08:15–08:45 for the 09:00 whale-watching departure, or self-meet at Elding before 09:00.

  2. Transfer to the rafting base

    After returning to the Old Harbour, the rafting shuttle departs for Drumboddsstaðir.

  3. End

    Hvítá rafting and return

    Complete a 60–90 minute guided rafting run, use the base-camp sauna or hot tub, then return to Reykjavík.
