Breiðdalsvík Swimming Pool (Sundlaug Breiðdals) is a small outdoor municipal pool with a hot pot at Selnes 25 in Breiðdalsvík, a fishing village in the southern Eastfjords run by Fjarðabyggð. The village sits on the coastal Ring Road between Djúpivogur and Stöðvarfjörður, so the pool is an easy break on the long drive along the fjords.
This is a simple local pool: one small outdoor swimming pool and a hot pot, with no slides or spa extras. Its value for travellers is location, since there are few places to swim or shower on this stretch of coast, and a soak in the hot pot is welcome after hours in the car or a walk in the Breiðdalur valley.
The pool is open in summer only. The published summer timetable runs from 1 June to 15 September, with opening hours of 14:00–20:00 on weekdays and 13:00–17:00 at weekends; the rest of the year it is closed. Because the municipality's page also lists the winter closure as starting in September, check with Fjarðabyggð if you plan to swim in the first half of September. The afternoon-only opening means it is no use for a morning swim; Stöðvarfjörður, 15 minutes north, opens from 10:00 on weekdays in summer.
Admission follows the Fjarðabyggð tariff in force from 1 May 2026: 1,145 ISK for a single adult entry and 6,926 ISK for a ten-visit card. Visitors aged 16–17 pay 325 ISK, children under 16 swim free, and pensioners and disabled visitors get 50% off.
