Stöðvarfjörður Swimming Pool is the small outdoor pool of Stöðvarfjörður, a fishing village of a few hundred people on Route 96 in the Eastfjords, between Fáskrúðsfjörður and Breiðdalsvík. It is run by the municipality of Fjarðabyggð and sits at Skólabraut 20, below the village school.
The facility is simple: one small outdoor pool and one hot tub. It is a summer-only community pool, so you will usually share it with local families and a few road-trippers. It makes a practical stop on the slow coastal drive through the Eastfjords, and it pairs well with a visit to Petra's Stone Collection, the village's well-known mineral museum, or a night at the Stöðvarfjörður campsite.
The pool opens only from 15 May to 31 August. In that period it is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 19:00 and on Saturdays and Sundays from 13:00 to 17:00. From 1 September to 14 May it is closed, so in winter the nearest open pools are in the larger towns of Fjarðabyggð such as Fáskrúðsfjörður and Eskifjörður.
Fjarðabyggð's pool tariff from 1 May 2026 sets adult single entry at 1,145 ISK. Teenagers aged 16 and 17 pay 325 ISK, children under 16 swim free, and pensioners and disabled visitors get 50% off with valid ID. A 10-visit adult card is also sold. As at every Icelandic pool, shower without a swimsuit before entering the water. The pool can be reached on 475 8930.
