Hvammstangi Swimming Pool at Hlíðarvegur 6 has a 25-by-11-metre, four-lane outdoor pool, a water-massage hot tub, waterslide, children’s wading pool, cold tub and steam room. The sports centre also includes a gym, group-exercise room and laundry equipment. The pool and changing facilities opened in 1982, and the attached sports hall opened in 2002.
Summer hours from 1 June to 31 August are Monday–Friday 07:00–21:00 and weekends 10:00–18:00. Winter hours from 1 September to 31 May are Monday–Thursday 07:00–21:30, Friday 07:00–19:00 and weekends 10:00–16:00. General entry is 1,200 ISK, compulsory-school-age children pay 340 ISK, and visitors aged 67+ or receiving a 75% disability pension pay 600 ISK. A ten-visit pass costs 8,500 ISK. Admission ends 30 minutes before closing, and visitors must leave within 15 minutes after closing.
