Sundlaugin Laugalandi is a small rural pool at Laugaland in the Holt district of Rangárþing ytra, South Iceland, a short drive west of Hella. It belongs to the municipality and serves the scattered farms and school community of the area, so it is a very different experience from the busy town pools of the capital region: quiet, local and uncomplicated.

The pool measures 8 by 16 metres and has two hot tubs beside it and a water slide. There is no spa section, so expect a straightforward swim and soak rather than saunas or steam rooms.

Opening is limited, and this is the key thing to plan around. In summer 2026 it opens only on Friday 14:00–21:00, Saturday 10:00–19:00 and Sunday 10:00–15:00. The winter 2026–27 timetable is just Tuesday and Thursday 15:00–19:00. The exact date of the switch between timetables and any holiday changes are not published in advance, so phone the municipal office before making a detour.

Prices follow the Rangárþing ytra tariff shared with Hella's pool. Adult entry at Hella was 1,350 ISK in 2025, and the 2026 rate should be confirmed on arrival. Children and teenagers under 18 who live or study in the municipality swim free.

If Laugaland is closed when you pass, the larger Hella Swimming Pool is about 10 minutes away with much longer daily hours, and Hvolsvöllur's pool is further east along Route 1. Laugaland suits travellers staying in cottages or farm guesthouses in the Holt and Landsveit area who want a weekend swim. Showering without a swimsuit is required before entering the water.
