Snæfellsnes & Kirkjufell Small Group Tour

  • Operated by Your Day Tours

Overview

A full-day small-group tour of the Snæfellsnes peninsula from Reykjavík, calling at Kirkjufell, Djúpalónssandur, Arnarstapi and Búðakirkja.

Pick-up starts at 08:00 and the route crosses the moss-covered Berserkjahraun lava field on the way to Kirkjufell, the 463-metre mountain standing above a fishing village on the north coast. The day continues to the black pebble beach at Djúpalónssandur, the village of Arnarstapi and the natural rock arch on its shore, the 19th-century church at Búðakirkja and the seals at Ytri-Tunga, with a stop in Borgarnes on the way back. Free Wi-Fi and a taste of traditional Icelandic food are included on board.

There is little walking on this tour, and children's fares cover ages 6 to 12. Ytri-Tunga is left out of the route in December and January, when there is not enough daylight to reach it. Time is set aside for lunch, but lunch itself is not included.
