Dalslaug
About Dalslaug
Dalslaug is Reykjavík's newest public swimming pool, opened on 11 December 2021 at Úlfarsbraut 128 in Úlfarsárdalur, a new residential district on the north-eastern edge of the city. It is part of a combined school, library and sports complex and is run by the City of Reykjavík.
The main pool is a six-lane, 25-metre outdoor pool. An indoor pool is used mainly for swimming lessons and training, and the outdoor area has hot tubs, a cold tub, a shallow wading pool for small children and a steam room. Because it serves a young neighbourhood, it is busy with families after school and at weekends, but it is usually quieter than Laugardalslaug or Vesturbæjarlaug in the city centre.
The pool suits visitors staying in the eastern suburbs or in Mosfellsbær, or anyone wanting a modern local pool away from the tourist centre. It is roughly a 15–20 minute drive from downtown Reykjavík. From late August to June, school swimming and club training use some lanes during the day, so lap swimmers may find more space in the evening.
Dalslaug is open all year, 06:30–22:00 on weekdays and 09:00–22:00 at weekends. Holiday hours differ around Christmas, New Year and Easter.
Under the Reykjavík fee schedule in force since 5 May 2026, adult single entry costs 1,500 ISK and children aged 10–17 pay 400 ISK; children under 10 swim free with an adult. A ten-visit adult card costs 7,000 ISK. Towel rental is 860 ISK and swimsuit rental 1,270 ISK. The complex has barrier-free routes to the changing rooms and pools and a portable lift for entering the pools and hot tubs.
