Íþróttamiðstöðin Borgarnesi is the sports centre and public swimming pool of Borgarnes, the main town of the Borgarfjörður district in West Iceland, at Þorsteinsgata 1. Borgarnes sits on the Ring Road about an hour's drive north of Reykjavík, so the pool is one of the most convenient places for travellers to stop for a swim on the way to Snæfellsnes or the north.
The outdoor pool measures 25 by 12.5 metres and is often uncrowded enough for lane swimming. Children have three waterslides and a separate children's pool. There are two hot tubs, a 12.5 by 8 metre indoor pool, a sauna and a sunbathing area, plus a gym in the same building. Special changing rooms are available for disabled visitors and anyone who needs more privacy.
The pool is open all year. The municipality lists hours of 06:30–22:00 on weekdays and 09:00–18:00 at weekends and on most public holidays. It is closed on 1 May and 17 June, the national day, and opens 09:00–18:00 on Whit Sunday and Whit Monday. With late weekday opening, it is a good place to break a long drive in the evening.
The 2026 prices are 1,600 ISK for adults, seniors and disabled visitors and 400 ISK for children aged 11–15, while children aged 10 and under swim free.
The town campsite is close by, and the Settlement Centre museum and Skallagrímsgarður park are within walking distance, making the pool easy to combine with an afternoon in Borgarnes. As at every Icelandic pool, shower without a swimsuit before entering the water.
