Laugar Swimming Pool (Sundlaugin á Laugum) is the municipal pool in Laugar, a small school village in Reykjadalur in North Iceland run by Þingeyjarsveit municipality. Laugar lies a short way north of Route 1, about 10 km from Goðafoss, which makes the pool a practical stop between Akureyri, Goðafoss, Mývatn and Húsavík.
The pool shares a building with the local sports hall. The main pool is a full 25 metres long and 12 metres wide, with two roomy hot tubs and a wading pool for small children, and there is a gym. It is a proper lap pool, and a cheaper place to soak than the Mývatn Nature Baths.
In summer, from 1 June to 18 August in 2026, it was open every day from 10:00 to 21:00. Outside summer the hours are much shorter: the national pool directory lists weekday sessions early in the morning and from mid-afternoon to evening, short Saturday opening and closure on Sunday, but the municipality has not published a dated winter timetable. Phone the pool on 862 3822 to confirm the day's hours before a special trip.
The 2026 tariff is 1,200 ISK for a single adult entry and 6,400 ISK for a ten-visit card. Visitors aged 6–17 pay 600 ISK, children under 6 swim free, and seniors and disabled visitors also swim free. Swimsuits and towels can be hired for 570 ISK each.
