Begga and Sveinn run the tour from Íslenski Reiðskólinn, starting with a short introduction on horseback before the group heads out across the volcanic ground around the school. The ride lasts roughly two hours and can be booked at several times of day; riders can try the tölt, the Icelandic horse's smooth four-beat gait.
There is no pick-up. Guests reach the riding school by rental car, taxi or bus, with a stop about 500 metres away. The operator asks to be contacted before a private booking is confirmed, and departures can run slightly late, so avoid scheduling anything tight afterwards. Dress for the weather.
