Hofsós
Hofsós lies on the eastern shore of Skagafjörður, with a fjord-view swimming pool, basalt shoreline and the Icelandic Emigration Center.

Why stop in Hofsós?
The swimming pool overlooks Skagafjörður and Drangey, while the Icelandic Emigration Center gives a different reason to stop: learning about Icelandic migration to North America. The basalt formations at Staðarbjargavík are another coastal feature to consider when conditions allow.
Planning your visit
Choose a pool visit, an exhibition visit or a shoreline walk according to your available time. Check pool and museum opening separately; a viewpoint over Drangey does not include an island excursion. Follow local access information for the coast rather than climbing onto exposed rocks for a photograph.
