Overview
A small-group horse-riding tour from Reykjavík, 2.5 hours in total with about 1.5 hours in the saddle, open to beginners and experienced riders.
Groups of up to 18 riders travel with three or four guides along the red lava hills and the ground around lake Elliðavatn or Rauðavatn, covering 5 to 7 km depending on the group's experience. Winter jumpsuits, rain clothing, boots and coffee are provided, and parking at the stables is free.
Only about 1.5 hours of the 2.5-hour tour is spent riding. The minimum age is 10 and there is a 110 kg weight limit. Pick-up from Reykjavík is available; riders arriving by car should be at the stables 15 minutes before the set riding time, while those booking pick-up are collected 30 minutes before.
