Overview
An eight-hour Reykjavík combo pairing a one-hour ATV ride above Lake Hafravatn with a three-hour whale-watching sailing in Faxaflói Bay.
Hotel pickup runs to a base camp 15 minutes from the city, where guides issue overalls, helmets, balaclavas and gloves and give a safety briefing before the ride along Lake Hafravatn to the summit of Hafrafell. Guests are dropped at the Old Harbour afterwards, where lunch is not included, then board the afternoon sailing with Elding in search of minke whales.
Drivers must be 18 and hold a full driving licence; passengers ride from age 8. Each ATV seats two, so an odd-numbered group must book one single-rider place, and whale sightings are not guaranteed.
